This week, local designer Anisa Mpungwe’s third exclusive range for Mr Price went on sale in selected stores in the country, parts of the rest of the continent, as well as online.

The range combines bold African prints and colours, which her clothing label Loin Cloth and Ashes has become famous for, with feminine silhouettes.

This easy-to-wear collection can be thrown on with basic items already in your wardrobe, and it all comes at a very affordable price. If you’re not sure how to pair it, the range also features basic tops and bottoms to help you assemble your look. Gugulethu Mhlungu checks it out

Midi skater skirt R189.99

One of the standout pieces in the collection, this mid-length skirt with its side pockets is a versatile piece that can be worn with shirts for a more formal look or strappy, round or V-neck tops for a more casual look

Abstract print coat R229.99

Mpungwe’s new collection also plays around with clashing prints in different colours. This coat is a great way to add colour over other solid colours like black, red, green or white

Pencil dress R189.99

An interesting take on the shift dress, which works well as a day and as a formal look that can also be taken into the evening for predrinks or dinner. The clashing patterns are trendy and fresh, while the pencil skirt cut is flattering and classic

Foil print tee R79.99

The foil print T-shirt uses bright colours and prints in a way that can be worn with jeans or other bottoms with a solid colour. It’s easy to wear with the right amount of pop

Abstract print jumpsuit R119.99

The jumpsuit is a versatile item that can either be dressed up or down. It is a summer must-have and this green and print version is a great look to have in your closet
