Elderly couple arrested for stealing RDP bricks

2010-09-29 07:45

A couple in their sixties were arrested for allegedly stealing bricks from a half-built RDP house site in Tshepiso, Sharpeville police said yesterday.

Police received information from the community about the couple after bricks worth R2 000 were stolen from the building site, said Warrant Officer Aubrey Moopeloa.

It was not clear how the man and woman, aged 60 and 63, allegedly stole the bricks from the site and where they took them as the bricks were not found at their home.

The couple is expected to appear in the Vereeniging Magistrate’s Court on charges of theft.
