A well-known former Generations actress has spent the night in jail after being arrested by Linden police for shoplifting.

The 32-year-old actress, who had been with the soapie for at least three years, will appear in the Randburg Magistrates' Court this morning for a formal bail application, eNCA reported.

The actress allegedly stole a packet of headache tablets at a retail store in Cresta mall. As she was leaving the store, the anti-theft sirens were triggered and security guards were called to arrest her.

Sergeant Obakeng Mabaso confirmed to eNCA that police had arrested a well-known actress who cannot be named as yet for legal reasons.
