Family to consult lawyer after lion ‘attacks’ sportsman’s father

2013-12-23 08:45

The family of former Griquas’ cricketer Brett Tucker is consulting a lawyer after Tucker’s father was bitten on the shoulder by a lion at a park near Krugersdorp on the West Rand.

According to The Star, the family was driving through the Lion Park on Saturday when a lion tried to put its paw through a partly-open window.

When Tucker’s father accidentally opened the electric window instead of closing it, the lion reportedly put its head into the car and bit him on the shoulder.

He was taken to hospital.

The Star reported the family had indicated it would not comment, and would consult a lawyer.

» This story was corrected after it was brought to our attention that Tucker had played cricket, not rugby as Sapa had reported.
