When the rest of the world suddenly went gaga over the bucket hat (iSpoti) trend this year, South Africans thought “Huh?” – we’ve been all over that trend for years, with acts such as Trompies making it mainstream.

Head Honcho, one of South Africa’s most influential youth lifestyle brands, has partnered with Cashtime Life, a leading hip-hop collective and record label, which has the likes of hit-maker KO in its stable, to produce a collaboration range of bucket hats, which will hit stores this summer.

“In hip-hop parlance, we say ‘real recognises real’,” says Head Honcho CEO and co-founder Nick Kaoma. “And there’s no crew that’s cooler and more authentic than Cashtime.”

All the hats are produced in Cape Town using locally sourced materials. They will be available countrywide in the next few weeks.
