Former Bafana player back in court

2011-12-05 07:21

The trial of former Bafana Bafana player Bryce Moon is set to continue in the Randburg Magistrates Court today.

Moon is facing charges of murder or culpable homicide relating to a car accident in 2009.

He allegedly drove over Mavis Ncube in his Mercedes Benz when he failed to negotiate a bend in Sandhurst.

Ncube later died in hospital from head injuries.

In June, Moon’s legal counsel Naren Sangham submitted that there were serious contradictions between statements made by the witness, Thandi Sibanda, and her testimony in court.

Sibanda had been with Ncube at the time of the accident.

Magistrate Vince Pienaar, however, ruled that the statement was legitimate and the trial was set down for five days, beginning today.
