Former Kaizer Chiefs star Isaac Ramaitsane “Shakes” Kungwane has died aged 43.

Supersport, where Kungwane was a football analyst, announced his death today.

“We are all stunned and saddened by this awful news,” said Alvin Naicker, SuperSport’s head of production.

“Shakes brought vitality, knowledge and understanding to his role at SuperSport. He was adored by everyone. This is a sad day for football lovers who will recall Shakes for his wizardry on the ball.”

Kungwane was also capped by Bafana Bafana and retired in 2002, Supersport said.

He is survived by his wife and three children.
