Fresh mix of vintage, funk

2011-04-08 11:52

Seventy Juta is a little block in Braamfontein that looks like nothing more than a colourful building.

But on closer inspection, you’ll find a hub of intertwining, interleading stores and offices that house a community which adds to the already bustling innercity rejuvenation happening in Joburg.

Fully-furnished New York-style apartments – home to many an entrepreneur – can be seen from the street, making the thought of moving to the city even more appealing.

Seventy Juta, which has been open since November, is a mix of vintage, funky and fresh stores and businesses that reflect the inner-city vibe – and the service is amazing.

Some of the stores such as the David Tlale Studio and the NewClr art gallery can only be viewed by appointment – adding a certain allure to the feel of the shopping mini-district.
