Fund to assist Fidentia beneficiaries to recover millions

2013-05-17 11:48

FedGroup Beneficiary Fund Administrators is pledging R1 million to help 500 ex-mine workers and other Fidentia beneficiaries to recover their money.

“We know how important monthly payments are and how not making payments threaten basic needs such as food, shelter and education,” FedGroup CEO John Field told the media yesterday afternoon.

“The 500 miners who lost millions continue to struggle to pay for food and shelter and deserve a further investigation. They cannot afford to get further advice, so we are pledging seed money to kick-start the process and pay for forensic, legal and accounting fees.”

Field said the pledge was just the start and encouraged businesses to get involved and help the beneficiaries.
