Gordon Igesund cleared

2014-04-17 13:46

Bafana Bafana coach Gordon Igesund has been cleared of any wrongdoing by a task team headed by Advocate Norman Arendse.

Igesund was accused of influencing players to demand more bonuses during the African Nations Championship in January.

But the task team found no evidence that warranted sanctions against the coach.

Arendse said there was no basis for the allegations.

He said some of the people invited by the investigations team did not honour the invitation.

Safa president Danny Jordaan said they were pleased that the matter had been finalised.

Jordaan said Igesund would lead the team on its tour of Australia and New Zealand next month.
