Hanging with: Cindy Nell Roberts

2010-04-03 10:09

Hannah Montana … Is a global fashion icon. Disney is currently choosing representatives worldwide to be judges for the new T-shirt competition. I was chosen to be the lead judge for the South African competition and I’m excited to be involved.

Designing your own T-shirt … I worked on blending Hannah’s style with mine. I wanted the shirt to be simple and comfortable but eye-catching at the same time. I know that she’s younger, but we actually have so many similarities. We are both role-models to young girls and have been around when it comes to fashion.

Your role in the competition … I have to encourage young girls to enter because this is an opportunity of a lifetime. The winner gets to go to Hollywood and meet Hannah’s stylist and get a makeover and have their T-shirt produced. My involvement is about motivating them to reach for their dreams.

Young girls … Should be simple, confident and elegant in the way they carry themselves.

I would love to be … Miley Cyrus just for one day. She’s worked so hard to build her career both as Hannah and Miley.

Speaking of kids … I’m not having children any time soon. It should be a natural transition for me when it happens. I’d love to have more girls than boys though, so I can dress them up all the time!

Happiness … Is what I’ve found. I’ve done it all – Miss SA, runner-up at Miss Universe, presenting. I thank God every day for the opportunities I’ve had.

Work … Is great. I’m currently writing my book titled Cindy Nell – model and pageant guide.

On Survivor … I felt honoured to be voted out because I was considered a threat to the others because I built a shelter.

Famous last words … As a girl you should be confident, bold and work hard. Follow your dream and don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t achieve something!
