Hatred for Israel

Obviously Mr Ebrahim is a Muslim with an axe to grind against Israel, which makes his plea suspect in and of itself as narrow sectorial gain rather than a national consideration. Where does he get off telling me to support his hatred for Israel?

I find it insulting and patronising of him to try to use the South African public to further his pro-Palestinian, personal vendetta against Israel.

He is the same man who robbed us of the intellectual cooperation between our universities and Israel’s, now he wants to “discourage people from going to Israel, except if it has to do with peace talks”. How kind of him.

This is such blatant disrespect for Nelson Mandela’s vision of nation-building as he, Mr Ebrahim, wants to divide the country with his anti-Semitism.

We are a multicultural nation, in case he forgot, and unlike the Middle East, we have a democracy and freedom of choice and association.

That’s why we are such a great nation.

One of his reasons for his condescension is that Israel is an occupier country which is oppressing Palestine.

So I say why not include China with its Burma occupation, which he sees as “proper for South Africans to associate with” and while we are at it, how about Syria or North Korea, which he conveniently forgets?

Mr Ebrahim Ebrahim, wake up because your hypocrisy is embarrassing and in the future, please don’t ever claim to speak for me. I don’t hold a candle for Israel, but rather for truth and justice.
