Headline-grabbing party

2011-04-16 13:17

Trying to ignore Kuli Roberts is like trying to ignore a mosquito in your ear. Okay, that’s a bit dramatic, but after being invited to the launch of the second season of her show Headline, it was hard to resist.

It was definitely worth it – with great food in the form of chicken kebabs, sushi and prawns; comedy supplied by Mzansi’s best up-and-coming comedian Trevor Gumbi; and the best beats offered by the DJ, it certainly was a headline-grabbing party.

South Africa’s premier celebrities were out in full force, including the always-fabulous Uyanda Mbuli in an off-the-shoulder, beaded number complete with pink snakeskin shoes.

Soapie star Pam Andrews also set tongues wagging in a pink mini-stripped dress, while fellow actress Carmel Fisher donned a onesie.

“It girl” of the moment Minnie Dlamini is turning out to be quite the fashionista and looked elegant in a navy one-strap number.

Other celebs included Future Sound, Phuti Khomo and Lerato Moloi, who looked slightly over-dressed but still beautiful.

All in all, it was a great, laughter-packed party to kickstart the weekend.
