Hot fun with Farah

2011-07-16 08:16

On Tuesday night, Jozi socialites converged on Hush nightclub in Rosebank for a private party to celebrate the third anniversary of events co-ordinator Farah Fortune’s company.

With clients like Dudu Zuma, Ice watches and the preppy men’s clothing label Penguin on her books, it’s little wonder that she wanted to celebrate the three years she’s been in business. The party attracted the likes of model Babalwa Mneno, actor Clint Brink, soccer hottie Ryan Botha, rapper Da L.E.S, former Big Brother contestant Lerato Sengadi, Soweto TV presenter Lerato Kganyago, poet Ntsiki Mazwai and TV starlets Pam Andrews, Kendra Efutunwa, Lucia Mthiyane and Lorcia Cooper.

I also caught a glimpse of Canadian singer Zaki Ibrahim, who looked rather shabby in shorts. Everyone there had made an effort to look snazzy as the dress code had stipulated black with a touch of green. But I guess she likes being different.

I got a chance to indulge in some of the buffet cuisine of cannelloni, mixed seafood pasta, home-made rolls with mozzarella, tomato and bay leaves and a variety of Italian salads. Peroni was the beverage sponsor, but as I’ve said before, I’m not a beer girl.

It felt like a big slumber party, with fun giveaways and mini makeovers for the ladies. But I felt sorry for the make-up artists because they had to be on their feet all night long to touch up guests’ faces.

Still, it was a fun night out that was just the right kind of hectic for a Tuesday night.
