How the blackouts will affect you

Suburbs such as Florida, Lenasia and Parkview will be affected between 6pm and 10pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and on weekends.

»?Eskom’s power supply to areas like Soweto will be cut off on Mondays between 2pm and 6.30pm between March 21 and March 27, Saturdays between 2pm and 6.30pm from March 14 to March 20 and between March 28 and April 3.

On Wednesdays, the power will be cut at the same time from March 14 to March 20 and from March 28 to April 3.


Ekurhuleni has one of the best load shedding schedules and will cut residents off every alternate day for three-hour stretches.

Residents will take turns to be cut off during peak periods.

Tshwane has issued a warning for residents to “brace themselves for rotational load shedding on a two-hour basis” to help ease the demand for power.
