It's Musa!

The auditorium of the NG church in Moreleta Park in Pretoria erupted when the "gentle giant" from Emalahleni beat the "Ben 10" from Graskop to become the ninth winner of SA Idols in an all-male finale tonight.

Musa Sukwene’s legion of fans chanted his name and in some instances booed Brenden Ledwaba when his image appeared on the screen on the stage.

Some two million votes were cast in what was described as a closely contested duel in the history of the show. Just a thousand votes separated the winner from the runner-up. In their last performance on stage the pair sang Soul Man.

It was a star-studded night featuring performances by music heavyweights such as Khuli Chana and The Parlotones, MiCasa, AKA with the top 10 males and Chiano Sky with the top 10 females. Khaya Mthethwa sang a gospel song.

Sukwene’s four-track mini-album will be released exclusively for Samsung phone users in time for the festive season.

Host Proverb announced that season 10 auditions start on February 15 2014 at Carnival City on the East Rand before going to Cape Town, Durban and Pretoria. publishes all comments posted on articles provided that they adhere to our Comments Policy.
