2010-09-09 09:56

A businessman was shot dead in his home at a security complex in Deneysville near the Vaal River.

“The couple heard the dog barking and the man went to investigate. He found unknown men in the living room, who fired three shots in his direction. He was hit and died on the scene,” said Sasolburg police spokesperson Fikiswa Matoti.

The man’s wife locked herself in the bathroom and phoned the police and security guards of the Club 40 complex.

“The intruders did not see her,” said Matoti.

The unknown men took jewellery and an old Nokia cellphone before running away.

No arrests have been made.
