It’s ironic for whites to rally for votes in our townships

South Africa’s democracy should be understood from its unique context, not a misinterpreted value system.

Each individual has the prerogative to cast their vote for the party that speaks to their value system.

Each political party promises to address the political, social and economic dilemmas that
we are faced with in this country.

The politics of the day thrive on the mental vulnerability of our people with such wonderful words as “freedom” from the socioeconomic issues affecting our communities.

The black people of this country should remember where they come from when they put a cross on the ballot paper. For 200 years we were colonised and oppressed and deprived of all our human rights.

It is sad at this point in time in our newly-found democracy, where many of our heroes and heroines died to liberate the black man from such forces, that blacks are being persuaded to vote for white rule, even before the blood has dried.

It is such irony to witness white faces dancing around like monkeys in the township when they are looking for votes.

I presume they have tour guides for their trips into the dark continent.

I also wonder if after the elections, we will ever see any of those faces again. I dare to see any of them relocating to the township.
