It has been a quiet start to the first week of the January transfer window amid a lot of speculation. Even after all this, Timothy Molobi believes some clubs need a total overhaul.

Mamelodi Sundowns

Position: 2

Please do not bring in new faces. There is no need to buy new players! Instead, Downs must release a few players who have struggled to get game time. This will help the technical team get to know the team properly, instead of chopping and changing in almost every game.

Bidvest Wits

Position: 3

Gavin Hunt bought well at the beginning of the season and it shows in the club’s steady contribution to the national teams.

Orlando Pirates

Position: 4

Bucs need to sign an experienced goalkeeper to help Brighton Mhlongo, who was thrown into the deep end after the death of Senzo Meyiwa. They will also do well to tie their captain, Oupa Manyisa, down with a long-term and lucrative contract.

Ajax Cape Town

Position: 5

Roger De Sá needs to add a bit of experience to the team because they have been undone by lack of experience at times. It is a good thing to believe in youngsters, but sometimes a little bit of experience is needed to guide the

Polokwane City

Position: 6

Because of the fact that City score as they concede, coach Kosta Papic needs to acquire an experienced defender. They could do with the experience of veterans Benson Mhlongo and Elias Ngoepe, who seem not to be in the good books.

Maritzburg United

Position: 7

Now that Steve Komphela has seen what loanees Abel Mabaso and Kwanda Mngonyama could do, he needs to negotiate for their permanent stay at the club. Komphela also needs a ball player to complement Mondli Cele and Kurt Lentjies in midfield.

Chippa United

Position: 8

Club owner Chippa Mpengesi needs to fire the management team (himself included) and take time out of the club to get proper managers to run the team professionally. It might be his club, but hiring and firing 12 coaches in the past three seasons is a bad reflection on the club’s vision. Instability was what led to their relegation two seasons ago.

Black Aces

Position: 9

Clive Barker brought in too many new players at the beginning of the season and he needs to offload some to have a manageable squad. Aces have been blowing hot and cold because “The Dog’s” selection has not been consistent. Whatever issues he has with Mabhuti Khenyeza need to be resolved.

Bloemfontein Celtic

Position: 10

Let’s hope the arrival of the chosen one, Clinton Larsen, will bring the necessary stability to the team. However, he needs to reinforce the team with a good goalkeeper to keep Patrick Tignyemb on his toes. They can also do with an additional striker and a centre back.

SuperSport United

Position: 11

Now that Gordon Igesund has settled in, he can bring in his calibre of players, but not discard the players who have been doing the job for him, like his predecessor, Cavin Johnson. Igesund needs to make Dové Womé’s loan deal permanent – the Togolese has been the team’s saviour this season.

University of Pretoria

Position: 12

Sammy Troughton should do everything to keep Geofrey Massa in the team because the Ugandan striker has been its salvation. However, the team needs another striker to complement Massa and Atusaye Nyondo.

Platinum Stars

Position: 15

It was to be expected that Stars would struggle after losing some of their key players. But it has taken too long for Allan Freese to turn things around. It is clear that Siyabonga Mpontshane’s mind is no longer with the team since he was linked with a move to Pirates.

Position: 16

After just one win in 16 games, it is clear Usuthu need to overhaul their squad, and the sooner they get quality players the better – from goalkeeper to strikers.
