Judith Sephuma loses child

2014-03-26 12:55

Songstress Judith Sephuma is mourning the death of her sixth child, who was three months old and born prematurely.

A Facebook post this morning by her photographer husband Siphiwe Mhlambi announced the death of the little girl.

Mhlambi wrote: “Born at only 32 weeks, my little angel’s life was short lived. Her beauty and magic will linger forever. Till we meet again my angel ... Your mom and dad love you.” He also shared a touching picture of him and the baby, whose name has not been divulged.

The child will be buried tomorrow morning in Joburg.

Family spokesperson Kgomotso Modise said the family was well, under the circumstances.

“They are coping, they are strong,” he said.

Sephuma underwent an operation last week, which forced her to miss her performance at the Naledi Theatre Awards, where she was scheduled to sing The Prayer with tenor Timothy Moloi.

She has been nominated in the female artist of the year and best contemporary faith music album categories at the forthcoming SA Music Awards.
