The trial of Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema and his co-accused has been postponed to September next year.

This follows a request by the state for a postponement amid new representations by Malema's lawyers, reports Poloko Tau.

Malema lawyer Tumi Mokwena said they had asked the state to withdraw the charges against Malema for lack of evidence.

He will be back in court alone next week for a decision in this regard.
