Kate won’t ‘obey’ her prince

2011-04-22 08:59

Royal bride-to-be Kate Middleton will not promise to “obey” her future husband in the wedding vows to seal her marriage to Prince William next Friday, a report in the Daily Mirror said today.

Middleton would follow the example of the late Princess Diana – and thousands of other modern brides – by omitting the word, promising instead to “love, comfort, honour and keep” the prince.

In preparation for the wedding on April 29, William has returned to London from the Royal Air Force base in Anglesey, Wales, where he is a search-and-rescue pilot.

The couple will spend some of the time in rehearsals at Westminster Abbey, where the wedding, to be attended by 1 800 invited guests, is scheduled to take place.

Some 8?000 journalists are expected to descend on London for the event, estimated to be followed by 2 billion viewers worldwide. This compares with 750 000 who watched the nuptials between Prince Charles and Diana in 1981.
