Kelly K is ‘just fine’

A resilient Kelly Khumalo won’t let events of the past put her down.

The star, who recently confessed that her ex-partner, Molemo “Jub Jub” Maarohanye, was allegedly abusing her, has confirmed that she has ditched the fallen hip-hop star of “Ndikhokhele” fame.

Last week it was reported that Khumalo had been suffering physical abuse at the hands of her former lover and baby’s father.

This shattered the strong image the couple had displayed on the cover of Drum magazine last month, which was accompanied by a trendy fashion spread.

The couple also came under fire for turning the corridors of the Protea Magistrates Court – where Maarohanye and his friend Themba Tshabalala are being prosecuted for the murder of four school children – into a catwalk spectacle.

When asked if she was separated from her lover, an irate Khumalo retorted: “Of course, I have left him! How can you even ask me that.” Khumalo insisted she is doing just fine after the nightmare.

“The physical scars are still there,” she says. “Obviously the emotional scars don’t show, but with time they will heal.”

Maarohanye was just as reluctant to open up.

When contacted about the allegations against him, he said that he is concentrating on “other important things” in his life right now.

“I have an important (court) case, and that’s where my energies are focused right now. Everything else doesn’t really matter right now. As for my personal life, I don’t want to discuss that in public,” he said.
