The police officers who shot at musician Khuli Chana have been charged with attempted murder. The Bedfordview police officers shot and wounded Chana in Midrand in October after they mistook his car for that of a kidnapper. The two will be summoned to appear in court on February 18 next year, he said. Gauteng SAPS spokesperson Neville Malila said no information had been communicated to the police as yet regarding the Ipid investigation. Chana’s agent was unavailable for comment. Last month, the Gauteng police said they were investigating a case of attempted murder against Chana, who allegedly tried to run over the police officers on the scene.
