Kidnapped Cape Town boys found unharmed

2014-10-08 11:17

Two boys kidnapped in Lansdowne, Cape Town, have been found unharmed.

“The children have now been found alive and unhurt,” Western Cape police spokesperson Colonel Tembinkosi Kinana said today.

“According to the information, they returned home late yesterday. However, it is not clear at this stage if they were brought back by the same suspects who had been alleged to have kidnapped them.”

Clinton Swart (10) and Samuel Muller (11) were playing in front of Lansdowne Fisheries at 3.30pm yesterday when two men in a car stopped and called them, police said at the time. The children were ordered to get into the car.

The men drove off towards Athlone, and were seen covering their faces. A kidnapping case was opened.

Kinana said the boys were taken to a farm in Philippi where they were told to offload some items from the vehicle.

“The police are, however, continuing with their investigation to look at the circumstances surrounding the whole incident,” he said.

“No arrests have been made at this stage.”
