Kumalo and Manne not part of Siyaya Free to Air

2014-08-15 11:15

On Sunday 10th August we reported on how Siyaya Free to Air, one of five new broadcasters waiting to be licensed by the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa, is preparing to launch its services.

In the article Basetsana Kumalo as well as general manager for television channels at the SABC, Leonardo Manne, were identified as shareholders of Siyaya Free to Air.

This is wrong. They are both directors of a separate company called Siyaya Television Consortium which produces content for other broadcasters but that company has nothing to do with Siyaya Free to Air.

City Press apologises for the error and any confusion it may have caused.
