Last ‘Terminator’ awful – Schwarzenegger

2012-04-07 11:28

New York - Arnold Schwarzennegger says “Terminator Salvation” was “awful,” Collider reports.

The former Governator seems to have displayed Terminator-like diplomacy in his assessment of the only “Terminator” film in which he didn’t star.

The site asked if he would consider sequels to his past films.

“[I’m open to] all those things, if it’s ‘True Lies,’ ‘Terminator,’ a well-made ‘Terminator’ ... the last one was awful,” he was quoted as saying. “It tried hard, not that they didn’t try, the acting and everything. It missed the boat.”

A fifth “Terminator” film is in development. The 2009 film “Salvation,” directed by McG, starred Christian Bale and Sam Worthingon.

Megan Ellison’s Annapurna Pictures acquired rights to the “Terminator” franchise after a bidding war at last year’s Cannes Film Festival.

If the project doesn’t go into production by 2018, rights revert to James Cameron, who wrote and directed the first two “Terminator” films.

Representatives for Schwarzenegger did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
