Hendrik Verwoerd and the Broederbond must be happy that Africans have accepted the term ‘blacks’.

The Afrikaners have called us lots of names: k*****s, plurals, Bantus and, later, blacks.

Our so-called leaders and the media seem to have jumped for joy at the idea of being called blacks. The term ‘blacks’ means nothing.

If you talk about black, you are actually talking about skin colour.

If you refer to me as an African, you are talking about an indigenous person of this country.

We refer to Indians as Indians, Chinese as Chinese, Germans as Germans, but when it comes to Africans, we refer to them as blacks.

Can you show me a country called black? I can show you a country called India, China, Germany.

Our media has destroyed us and it is still destroying the minds of our children. The leaders of our country are also to blame for poisoning the minds of adults, children and the African nation as a whole.

We have to stop this rubbish of referring to ourselves as blacks. In fact, I think that this country is in a mess because we are losing our identity by calling ourselves blacks. We should abandon the term ‘blacks’ – and be led by Africans who know that Africa belongs to the Africans.
