Lover of Bloem mum in court

2012-03-15 12:49

The lover of the Bloemfontein mother whose body was found in a shallow grave, Quewin Coetzee (30), appeared in a packed courtroom in the Bloemfontein Magistrates Court today.

Members of the ANC Women’s League were also in court.

Coetzee appeared on charges of murder and escaping from custody. The case was postponed until March 22 for further investigation.

He remains in custody.

Celesté Fraser-Carson’s body was found in a shallow grave more than three weeks after she had disappeared. She was three months pregnant and was last seen getting into the car of her lover.

Coetzee was not asked to plead.

He is being moved from the Grootvlei Prison to the Bainsvlei holding cells.

ANC Women’s League chairperson in the Free State, Sisi Ntombela, said the league was going to visit Fraser-Carson’s family. “We are also going to turn up in numbers at the court next week,” she said.
