A man who allegedly killed his friend by Man arrested after drinking spree turns deadly has been arrested in Sharpeville, Gauteng police said today.

Warrant Officer Aubrey Moopeloa said the 26-year-old man apparently drove over his friend after a drinking spree on Saturday.

“It appeared that they got into a fight with other people where they were drinking and the two were trying to get away.”

He said the man apparently reversed and did not see his 35-year-old friend behind the car.

Moopeloa said an ambulance was called to the scene, but the friend died on his way to hospital.

The driver was charged with driving without a driver’s licence, failure to report an accident and culpable homicide.
