A man has been arrested in connection with the killing of an Anglo American Platinum female employee at its Rustenburg operations two years ago.

“The 29-year-old man is expected to appear in the Rustenburg Magistrates’ Court on Monday to face murder charges,” North West Premier Thandi Modise’s spokesperson Lesiba Kgwele said in a statement yesterday.

“We wish to convey our condolences to the family of the murdered woman and commend police on the arrest of the suspect.”

Comment from the North West police could not be attained.

The body of Pinky Mosiane was discovered two years ago at the mine’s Khomanani shaft 1.

She was reportedly raped and murdered while at work on 6 February 2012.
