Man arrested for wine estate murder

A 26-year-old man was arrested for the murder of a woman on a wine

estate in Franschhoek, Beeld newspaper reported today.

Chanel du Toit (28) was found dead at Dieu Donne Wine Estate last


She had been strangled.

A man had been arrested for her murder and was expected to appear

in court on Monday.

Chanel and her husband, Johan du Toit (26), lived in a cottage on

the wine estate, about one kilometre from his parents’ house.

The couple got

married last year.

Her mother-in-law found the body after her son said he was

concerned because he could not get hold of her.

He said the last time he saw her

alive was at 2am that morning when he left for Springbok.
