A man was found lying in a storm water drain in Pretoria this morning.

“The man was allegedly walking along the road when there was some form of altercation between him and another party,” ER24 said today in a statement.

“This altercation ended in the man allegedly being flung from the Pretorius Street bridge into the storm water drain below.”

The man fell about 5 metres, but only suffered scrapes and bruises.

ER24 said he had been lying in the drain since 4am and was found by security guards at 7am.

A fire and rescue team was called to help lift him out. He was taken to hospital. Police were investigating.
