A 29-year-old man accused of the murder of two children in Diepsloot was expected to appear in the Pretoria Magistrates’ Court today.

He was arrested in Alexandra, north of Joburg, on Friday for the murder of Yonelisa Mali (2) and her cousin Zandile Mali (3).

The man had been on the run since the discovery of the toddlers in a toilet cubicle on Tuesday last week.

He would face two charges of murder, rape and kidnapping.

Four other men appeared in the Pretoria Magistrates’ Court on Friday on charges of rape and murder. The case was postponed to Thursday for the men to apply for legal aid.
