Former president Nelson Mandela’s grandson, Mandla Mandela, today refused to comment about Madiba’s health.

“I am not here to talk about Mandela family related issues,” Mandla said at Nqadu Great Place in Willowvale near Dutywa.

Earlier today, President Jacob Zuma received the King Hintsa Bravery Award at Nqadu Great Place.

Eastern Cape Premier Noxolo Kiviet said, while welcoming Zuma, that the people of the the province were praying for Mandela’s speedy recovery.

Mandela (94) was admitted to hospital in Pretoria on Saturday to undergo “routine tests”.

The Presidency has since said he is being treated for a lung infection.

“Long live Mandela ... long live. All the people of this province wish you good health. May God bless you and keep you for a long time so that we can continue to benefit from your knowledge and worth,” Kiviet said.
