Mbau celebrates her sweet 26th year

Khanyi Mbau proved she is still a diva after arriving three hours late for her own 26th birthday party on Thursday evening.

The socialite, who had invited multitudes in a video message to theSET club in Rosebank Wednesday, even kept ANC Youth League president Julius Malema and his four-man entourage waiting for an hour.

Malema arrived in a Hummer, wearing a pink and white jacket, blue top and grey pants with Floyd Shivambu, his sidekick, in tow.

An hour later, flanked by an entourage of men dressed in women’s clothes, Mbau appeared on the clubs’ staircase wearing a colourful dress and her body covered in diamond and gold jewellery.

“I bought this dress myself,

I spent about R30 000 on my whole outfit, which isn’t much to be honest with you,” she said.

Mbau paired her dress with gold slippers decorated with shiny stones. She accessorised the outfit with a matching gold watch, earrings, a ring and neck piece.

After posing for several pictures, she took to her guests’ tables, including Malema’s which sported the new Johnnie Walker Double Black bottle.

She shared a double-cheeked continental kiss and a hug with Juju as they smiled and posed for the cameras.

She also popped along to her celebrity pals’ section, where her former publicist Linda Moeketsi and model Babalwa Mneno were chilling, but minutes later went back to her VIP booth where her entourage was waiting.

The starlet ordered three bottles of French premium champagne Veuve Cliqout and a Moët & Chandon, which she opened and blew kisses at Juju’s table as sign of a toast.

“Let the party begin, friends,” she said before posing for more pictures with her fans.
