Media get access to Zuma Spear classification hearing

2012-05-23 15:11

The media would be allowed to cover a classification hearing of Brett Murray’s controversial portrait of President Jacob Zuma on Tuesday.

This follows a request by City Press, the Goodman Gallery and Avusa Media for the media to be allowed to cover the proceedings.

The classifications committee of the FPB “will sit solely” to hear representations from City Press and the Goodman Gallery on the classification of the artwork, according to a statement released by the FPB.

“Members of the media will be granted conditional access to the hearing and are required to register and accredit themselves to acquire such access,” the statement reads.
