Medics try to save calf hit by taxi

2012-01-03 14:37

Paramedics tried to save the life of a calf hit by a minibus taxi on a road inland of Durban today, but it died shortly after arriving at a veterinary clinic.

Medics arrived at the scene of the accident, outside Hillcrest, and found the taxi passengers uninjured and turned their attention to the calf.

“It appeared to be in a lot of pain,” ER24 spokesperson Derrick Banks said.

“The paramedics carefully picked up the calf and placed it on to a stretcher, then rushed it to the Waterfall veterinary clinic.

“Unfortunately, the calf had suffered very critical injuries and died at the clinic.”
