Motoring briefs – Ferrari cleans up engine awards

The prancing horse has claimed the Best Performance Engine award for a second year running.

Ferrari’s 4.5-litre naturally-aspirated V8 engine nabbed the title at the prestigious International Engine of the Year awards.

The dry-sump, flat-crank, 90° V8 also took the title in the Above 4-litre category for the second time.

A panel of motoring journalists from 35 nations chose the engine after taking into account aspectssuch as fuel economy, smoothness, sound, performance and drivability.

The Ferrari 458 Italia continues to attract critical acclaim worldwide, with nearly 40 international awards received in its short career.
