Armed men broke into the Umhlanga, KwaZulu-Natal, home of National Freedom Party leader Zanele kaMagwaza-Msibi and accosted her daughter.

“Around 3.45am [on Wednesday], two men armed with knives and one wearing a balaclava broke into my house,” she was quoted as saying in The Citizen today.

“They entered through the main door and raided my house.”

KaMagwaza-Msibi was not at home at the time, but her daughter was.

“While I am grateful my daughter was not hurt, as a mother I cannot imagine the trauma she went through as she was accosted by armed men.”

She said the intruders broke down her bathroom door and ransacked the house.

They fled with valuables.

KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson Captain Thulani Zwane could not be reached for comment this morning. The newspaper said police had not yet confirmed the incident.
