New Michael Jackson song released

Los Angeles – A previously unheard Michael Jackson song has been released.

Don’t Be Messin’ Around was not deemed good enough by Michael to feature on his 1987 album Bad, but is being made available as part of the album’s re-release, and went on sale as the B-side to a new version of the album’s first single, I Just Can’t Stop Loving You in the US from yesterday.

Jackson – who died in June 2009 of acute Propofol intoxication – wrote Don’t Be Messin’ during the sessions for his second album, Thriller, with engineer Brent Averill. In the recording he can be heard ad-libbing and giving instrumental instructions.

‘Hear him having fun’
Matt Forger, a sound engineer and friend of Michael, who worked on the track, told “You can just hear him having fun. His spirit and emotion are totally there. He knew in demos he didn’t have to be totally perfect in his execution.

“So he’d be loose. He’d throw in ad libs and dance or sing or pop his fingers or clap his hands. You just hear him enjoying himself.”

The Bad 25 album, which will also feature unseen live footage from one of Michael’s Wembley, London, concerts in 1988, will be released in the UK on 18 September.

It will be much more raw and natural sounding then the King of Pop’s first posthumous album, 2010’s controversial Michael, which was slammed by family members, who claimed Sony Music hadn’t used his real vocals.
