A crash in Margate has claimed another life, bringing to nine the number of people who died when a minibus taxi and a bakkie collided head-on. One of the seven people critically injured in the crash last night had died, said said Netcare 911 spokesman Chris Botha. Another eight people were seriously hurt and eight people died at the scene of the accident on the R61 near Margate, on the KwaZulu-Natal south coast, he said. Some of the injured had been trapped in the wreckage, where paramedics stabilised them while firemen used hydraulic equipment to free them. They were taken to various hospitals.
