Obama watches Osama operation live

Cape Town – The White House has released pictures of US President Barack Obama and members of his team, including US Secretary of State Hilary Clinton, watching live footage of the operation in which al-Qaeda founder Osama bin Laden was killed in Pakistan, reported Sky News today.

In the photographs the clearly tense team can be seen following the events that were beamed live to the White House via a camera that was mounted on the helmet of one of the members of the Navy Seals taking part in the operation, reports said.

In one of the photographs an anxious Clinton can be seen with her hand over her mouth.

US chief counter-terrorism advisor John Brennan, who was also among those viewing the footage told the broadcaster: “It was probably one of the most anxiety-filled periods of time.

It was clearly very tense, a lot of people were holding their breath.”

Asked how Obama reacted when he received the news that the world’s most wanted terrorist had been killed, Brennan said the president said: “We got him.”
