Orlando Pirates coach must either shape up or kiss PSL goodbye!

2009-11-12 13:52

The current loss of form at Orlando Pirates can only be attributed

to the coach’s lack of vision and failure to plan.

One of the problems with the

coach is although the team has a flood of talented players, the honourable Mr

Krol decided to stick to one team.

Even a kindergarten kid will tell you that if you don’t rotate or

rest players, they will tire sooner or later.

Since his arrival, the coach has played the same team week in and

week out.

Even if the team was winning, it was only a matter of time before

the opposition caught up on their strategies.

The good coach also stuck to his guns and played dead even when the

crowds were calling for the introduction of Joseph Kwamendo. The poor guy is

permanently on the bench.

One might argue that a coach should not tamper with a winning team,

but signs were there that sooner or later the ship would sink.

During the derby, Pirates undoubtedly had good players but the team

looked more like a flock of sheep being chased by a German Shepherd than

Teko Modise was nowhere to be found on the field, Dikgang Mabalane

was running in the opposite direction, Katlego Mashego was just walking and why

Gumbi is forever in the starting line-up is beyond me!

Where were impact players like Mongala, Mothibandwa, and the likes

of Mthembu?

The team bought these players, some even went to arbitration

fighting for them and yet for some reason (known only to the coach) we are not

using them.

It is embarrassing for a team with Pirates’ stature to be losing to

relegated Amazulu.

If this good Dutchman continues with these trends of playing the

same players even when they are out of form and fatigued and preferring certain

players over others, then Pirates might as well kiss the PSL goodbye and say

“hi” to the Mvela League.
