2011-06-13 13:24

The chief operating officer of the Public Investment Corporation (PIC), Albertinah Kekana, is resigning at the end of this month, the investment manager announced today.

“In her eight years at PIC, Ms Kekana managed the support for an investment team with over R900 billion of assets under management and piloted and championed many critical tasks such as finalising the process of registration with the Financial Services Board (FSB),” PIC said in a statement.

“The board would like to thank Ms Kekana for her contribution to PIC over the years, and wish her the best in her future endeavours,” said Nhlanhla Nene, chairman of the PIC board of directors.

A process was underway to appoint a new chief operating officer, who would report directly to the PIC chief executive officer.

PIC is wholly-owned by the South African government, with the minister of finance as shareholder representative.
