Panty protest at ANC Women’s League conference

2014-12-14 13:22

Members of the ANC Women’s League in Limpopo put panties on their heads and chased a party official out of their elective conference.

The Sunday World reported that an ANC member who spoke to the newspaper on condition of anonymity said “apparently these ill-disciplined delegates followed him screaming ‘Beyonce, Beyonce’, and that is when he ran out of the venue.”

The Sunday World reported the official was the ANC’s provincial secretary Nocks Seabi who had come to the league’s elective conference, being held at a lodge in Limpopo last weekend, after reports of delayed registration.

Delegates apparently chased him out because they believed he was aligned with one of the candidates standing for election.

ANC provincial spokesperson Khumbudzo Ntshavheni said the panty chasers would be disciplined.

“We know who these delegates are ... What these delegates did goes against the principles of the struggle for the empowerment of women.

“These are mothers. What will happen if the videos or pictures taken there end up on social media and their children see them?” she asked.
