If comedy had a government, this would be it.

We have all the ministers under one roof.

Minister of Single Fathers and Roads Mpho Popps Modikoane; Honourable Minister of Culture Ndumiso Lindi; Minister of Non-Human Settlements Chester Missing; Minister of Headucation and Literasy Alan Committie; Minister of Haircare, Skincare and Apnoea Joey Rasdien; and Public Attacker John Vlismas.

They have even taken the following solemn vow:

“With fist over heart and peri-peri chicken wing in hand, I do swear that I will be (mostly) faithful to the Comedy Cabinet and will disrespect and poke fun at the Comedy Constitution and all other hilarious laws of the Cabinet and I undertake to hold my office as minister with honour and humour; to be truly hilarious; not to divulge directly (but through my spokesperson) any secret matter or another comic’s material entrusted to me; and to perform the functions of my office with half-hearted vigour and to be fired up by comedy.”

Watch these “ministers” as they make their election promises to you. How else could we face Nkandla, Gerrie Nel, the SABC, e-tolls, the EFF and Mamphela Ramphele other than by rolling in the aisles?
