Pics – Winners at the Ironman African Championship

The Ironman African Championship was held in Port Elizabeth on Sunday (March 29 2015). The triathlon consisted of a 3.86km swim, followed by a 180km bicycle ride and a marathon (42.2 km). Belgian Frederik van Lierde, the 2013 Ironman World Champion, took his first continental win, crossing the finish line in a time of 8 hours and 16 minutes. Jodie Swallow took first place after dominating all three disciplines, while fellow Brits Lucy Gossage and Susie Cheetham took second and third respectively.
