Pistorius case set for 2014 high court trial

2013-08-19 10:58

Paralympian Oscar Pistorius was embraced by family after a short appearance in the Pretoria Magistrates’ Court today.

His case was moved to the high court in Pretoria, starting from March 3 next year.

It is set to run until March 20.

Pistorius was released under his previous bail conditions.

The double amputee is charged with the murder of his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, who was shot dead in his Pretoria home on February 14.

Outside court, prisoners’ rights activist Golden Miles Bhudu stood in chains, wearing an orange jail overall.

He held a placard which read: “Oscar Pistorius U ain’t need no spin doctor/s nor do I need the best lawyers in the land Nor do u need the best lawyers in the land.”
