Police probe ‘muthi killing’

Police are investigating the killing of a man whose bullet-riddled

body has been found this morning next to a bucket of traditional muthi – a dead

chicken and a sheep’s head – at Engonyameni outside Umlazi, KwaZulu-Natal.

Lieutenant-Colonel Vincent Mdunge said: “This makes us suspicious

that this incident is muthi related.”

The man also had gunshot wounds, he said.

The man, believed to be in his early 40s, was discovered by people

on their way to work.

They informed their traditional leader who then called the

police, Mdunge said, adding that no one had been arrested in connection with the
